The Michigan Math Essentials

Math Essentials are a set of key practices that support strong, fair math teaching and learning for children from Pre-K to Grade 5. They help build deep understanding through engaging, evidence-based activities. Developed by the MAISA Mathematics Task Force, the Essentials come with helpful resources—like guides and courses—to support educators in using these practices with confidence.
